About the Program
A Government of India scheme
The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is a Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship initiative. Kloud Course Academy, an Academia / Skilling Partner of the IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council (SSC nasscom), helps you get ready, register and get matched — and can arrange SSC nasscom assessment and certification on NSQF-aligned qualifications.
Registered on the national apprenticeship portal
Your apprenticeship contract is registered on the Government of India's apprenticeship portal (NAPS), and your completion certificate is QR-verified and available in DigiLocker.
Shared stipend, paid to you
The company pays at least 75% of your stipend. The Government's share — 25%, up to ₹1,500 a month — is transferred straight to your bank account under the scheme in force.
SSC nasscom skill standards
The IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council sets the Qualification Packs and National Occupational Standards your role is trained and assessed against.
Academic credits through your college
Under the National Credit Framework, apprenticeship months can count towards academic credit (about 3.3 credits a month) when your college awards them. We provide the hours log and completion record your college needs.

Stipend & Government Share
What you earn each month
Under the Apprenticeship Rules every apprentice gets at least the prescribed minimum stipend for their qualification. Under NAPS the Government adds its share — 25%, up to ₹1,500 a month — paid directly to your bank account.

What is Govt DBT?
Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) is the Government of India's system for paying its share of your stipend directly into your bank account. It is paid for your first apprenticeship only and for NSQF-aligned courses, after the employer has paid its share.

Eligibility
Who can apply?
NAPS sets the eligibility rules — most students and recent graduates qualify.
Age 14–35 Years
NAPS accepts applicants from 14 to 35 years — covering all student and early career stages.
Class 5th to Post-Graduate
Minimum Class 5th; for IT-ITeS roles, at least Class 10th with domain knowledge is required.
APAAR ID (recommended)
Needed to link academic credits to your Academic Bank of Credits. Register at apaar.education.gov.in before applying.
nasscom Certification / Workshop
At least one nasscom certification or workshop — through Kloud Course or FutureSkills Prime.
Not in Full-Time Employment
NAPS is for those seeking employment — not for those already in full-time roles.

The Government's stipend share is paid for your first apprenticeship only; a person may undergo at most two (Apprenticeship Rules, 2025).

Common questions about NAPS apprenticeship
The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is a Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship initiative. It allows students and fresh graduates to work inside registered companies while receiving a stipend, with a share paid by the Government.
Yes — every registered apprentice must be paid at least the prescribed minimum stipend for their qualification (₹12,300 a month for graduates from Sept 2025). Under NAPS the Government adds 25%, up to ₹1,500 a month, by DBT to your bank account, for your first apprenticeship.
Recommended. NAPS registration needs your Aadhaar and e-KYC. APAAR ID is what links academic credits to your Academic Bank of Credits, so get one free at apaar.education.gov.in before you start.
Hiring is the employer's decision and is not guaranteed. Nationally, MSDE's evaluation found 72% of NAPS apprentices in full-time work on completion, and 74% within a year of finishing.

NAPS-2 supports 6-, 9- and 12-month apprenticeships (the law allows 6 months to 3 years). We offer 6-month and 12-month tracks; both are registered under NAPS and can count towards academic credit through your college.
NAPS is a Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship scheme that has run since 2016 and is renewed in phases. The Government's stipend share applies as notified for the current phase; we confirm the position when you apply.
